What is Network Marketing?
Network marketing is a business model that relies on person-to-person sales by independent representatives, often working from home. A network marketing business may require you to build a network of business partners or vendors to assist you in closing leads and closing sales.
There are several reputed network marketing operations, but some are represented as pyramid schemes. The latter may focus less on sales to consumers who expect to hire vendors who may need prep for expensive starter kits.
Network marketing structure
First, manufacturers need multiple distributors, sub-distributors, and distributors to create a network marketing structure. Second, these distributors obtain goods from the manufacturers themselves at wholesale prices.
They can use them individually or sell them to other distributors for profit. This trend continues even further. Distributors will eliminate marketing products until they reach customers or they may otherwise become customers.
Also, these distributors have the opportunity to derive some benefit from this network marketing. They may receive some commission based on the total quantity of goods purchased by the manufacturers. Therefore, the operation of these distributors is similar to that of insurance agents.
Types of Network Marketing
Network marketing can be divided into three essential categories. These categories are similar in that they require people to use their personal networks to run their businesses. Through these networks, people make sales or recruit others to sell products.
1.Direct marketing:
This single level marketing system requires signing up for a program to sell a product or service. Those who enroll in these programs are not required to recruit other distributors and are paid only for the direct sales they make.
Direct marketing is the most immediate form of sales. Find a product that you like and your friends and family buy it. Some of the main companies involved in this type of are Mary Kay Cosmetics, Avon Cosmetics and Pampered Chef Kitchen Supply.
2.Affiliate marketing:
A new aspect of network marketing is the use of online affiliate marketing programs. Website owners and bloggers integrate links to specific products on their platforms. When people click on those links and buy the product, the website owner gets a referral fee. This gives customers access to a trusted site where they can buy the advertised products immediately.
It is important that people who use affiliate links are transparent about it. A simple disclaimer at the bottom of a blog post serves this purpose and tells your audience that you are making money from these links. The Amazon affiliate program is one of the most well-known, but participation and Google affiliate networks are also options.
There are thousands of affiliate programs that both brands and individuals can benefit from. Be sure to research the highest paying affiliate programs before joining a program.
3.Multi level marketing:
Multilevel marketing (MLM) is a distribution-based marketing network consisting of direct sales and the decline of distributors. These domestic businesses receive a lot of bad press for their similarity to pyramid schemes. Actually, there is a significant difference among them. Where pyramid schemes require people to invest in false promises of money, MLM organizations sell genuine products or services that distributors believe.
